The club has an active junior section that encourages and helps develop the golfing skills and abilities of its junior members.
Junior membership is available to those aged under 18 on January 1 of each year, and most of the 80-strong membership is in the age range of 12 to 17. About half the junior membership has a handicap of 28 or under with about a dozen of these having a handicap of 12 or lower.
The section organises junior stableford competitions which are open to all junior members during the school half-term and full-term holidays and runs singles and foursomes competitions during the main golfing season. Participation in junior competitions enables juniors to obtain and subsequently improve their golfing handicap.
The section also plays a number of friendly matches against other clubs' junior sections, the Kent Girls and the Ladies' and Elders' section of the club; we also enter teams of our low-handicap juniors into Kent junior knock-out and foursome league competitions, we encourage our competitive juniors to play in the increasing number of Junior Opens in Kent and we also have an annual match on a home and away basis with juniors from Stockholm Golf Club.
All junior coaching is handled by the professional team in the club's pro-shop and is open to both members and non-members. Coaching is available to groups of all golfing abilities and also on a one-to-one basis, depending on individual and seasonal demand. The club also runs a Junior Academy which caters for the younger beginner junior golfer and is an excellent way of developing golfing skills and knowledge before applying for junior membership of the club.
