Hole 1 - 192 yards Par 3 At a 192 yards this par 3 opening hole plays slightly uphill to a well protected green. Trouble lies to the right where the ground falls away into a deep hollow.
Hole 2 - 342 yards Par 4 The climb continues for another 342 yards to the 2nd green which is standing on a shelf and protected by three bunkers set diagonally across the fairway. Care should be taken with your approach shot as the ground slopes more and more to the right as you approach the green.
Hole 3 - 403 yards Par 4 The 3rd turns back towards the clubhouse. To reach the green, some 403 yards away, you drive down into a lovely valley where you are faced with a tough second to a high and magnificently sited green backed by trees. This has been classified as one of the great holes of golf.
Hole 4 - 415 yards Par 4 This is equally challenging in both quality and beauty. From a high tee your drive takes you to the corner of a long valley where you are in a perfect position to turn the slight dog-leg left and play for the difficult to find green, well protected by bunkers, so accuracy is essential to master this 415 yard hole.
Hole 5 - 180 yards Par 3 This is the second of the short holes at 180 yards and played over a valley to a high green. The pro’s tip is to play long in the summer as anything short of the green is likely to end up back at your feet.
Hole 6 - 399 yards Par 4 With the famous Knole Park opening up before you this 399 yard par 4 stroke index 1 is no walk over, you can drive straight down the valley or take the route left, the choice is yours, but be warned, it is not as easy as it looks.
Hole 7 - 480 yards Par 5 Some say this is your first opportunity to pick up a shot but this 480 yard par 5 only allows the very best to achieve this.
Hole 8 - 184 yards Par 3 Before you play your shot, take time to admire the beauty of your surroundings and take special note of the water on the left as it seems to act like a magnet. This par 3 is 184 yards played downhill.
Hole 9 - 501 yards Par 5 The last hole on the outward half, at 501 yards it will take 2 very good shots to put you within striking distance of the green.
Hole 10 - 171 yards Par 3 The second half opens with this 171 yard par 3 that demands an accurate tee shot.
Hole 11 - 422 yards Par 4 At 422 yards this is a very popular hole with one of the sharpest dog-legs imaginable.
Hole 12 - 198 yards Par 3 A long short hole which requires accuracy over a valley to the well positioned green.
Hole 13 - 325 yards Par 4 This hole at 325 yards is a tempting sight from the tee, but be careful of all the danger lurking on the right hand side in the guise of two well hidden ponds.
Hole 14 - 447 yards Par 4 Giving magnificent views of the Deer Park this 447 yard dog-leg has ruined many a card. The downhill sweep of the ground seems to tempt the unsuspecting into a big hit which carries the ball out of bounds with seemingly no effort at all. You have been warned.
Hole 15 - 485 yards Par 5 Driving from a platform tee down a long valley the green can be seen some 485 yards into the distance nestling into the side of a slope. This will take two very good shots to reach, even in the best of conditions.
Hole 16 - 198 yards Par 3 After a short climb from the 15th green you arrive at the last of the short holes, a 198 yard par 3 that plays slightly up hill with a gentle right to left slope to a well protected green. The ground falls away sharply to the right so play well over the bunker for safety.
Hole 17 - 503 yards Par 5 Heading for home on this long 503 yard par 5 with magnificent views back towards Sevenoaks and the distant North Downs this hole has trouble on both sides, perhaps the right hand side is more dangerous with its old bomb craters, but there is a real premium on accuracy when playing this hole.
Hole 18 - 401 yards Par 4 The final hole, 401 yards long and again accuracy with a good straight drive is required to place you in a good position for your approach to the green. If you are too far right you will need to play your approach shot over the pond.
Knole Park Golf Club is steeped in history and is an inspiring place to play golf, no sooner have you finished your round than you want to get back out there to play again, to enjoy the views and to master this very special course.
